The Ugandan events promoters who went to Gulu to meet Gen Salim Saleh by office have been charged with trespass and three other offenses.
This was revealed by the self proclaimed president of promoters Abbey Musinguzi also known as Abitex who was also among the promoters that actually went on that day.
Promoters being part of the entertainment sector, recently started demanding for their share on the money that was put in the budget to cover musicians.
When thy went to the ministry of gender and were not given time, they decided to get into their cars and go to Gulu to meet Gen Salim Saleh even without any appointment.
According to Abitex, he wasn’t happy seeing promoters in his compound. He said that the only conversation he had with them was reminding them that he helped them in 2021 and doesn’t understand why they are back.
The promoter revealed that they were not allowed to say any word as they charged and instructed to leave the compound.
“Gen. Salim Saleh told us that our comic journey was over. He reminded us that he had supported us from 2021 until now and questioned why we were ambushing his home Abitex: . Gen. Salim Saleh went on to charge us with four offences, including trespass. We were not allowed to say a word, and he instructed us to leave Gulu,”
