Kawempe North MP-elect, Elias Nalukoola has expressed confidence that his party, the National Unity Platform (NUP), will triumph over the National Resistance Movement (NRM) if the ruling party contests his victory in court.
Nalukoola claimed victory in last week’s Kawempe North by-election, defeating NRM candidate Faridah Nambi.
After the elections, the president of Uganda and NRM Yoweri Kaguta Museveni claimed that there was vote rigging.

He said that they were going to challenge the victory of NUP after the investigation are done and the evidence revealed that there were things that were not right.
According to Nalukoola, he knows that the victory was pure and the people of Kawempe North knows why.
