The President of musicians under the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) has revealed what she thinks about the newly passed copyright laws for artistes.
She said that it is bizarre to her that after a long time of pushing for these laws to be passed, the president had to first choose his advisor and I just months he worked on what the creatives want.
According to the king herself Cindy, most people are not actually happy with the copyright law because they don’t know the details of it. All that was released were the basics and people haven’t even understood it.

The talented musician actually said that she is watching from a distance to see how things transpire and what will come next since all people are now aware that the copyright law is in existence.
“The president chose his advisor, but that doesn’t mean I agree with him. That’s why most people aren’t okay with this copyright law. We have been pushing for copyright for a while, and now we don’t know if our ideas and interests were presented to the president. But at least, for now, we have a green light,” Cindy
