Uganda is the home of the entertainment although a few musicians make it out to the other world by just expressing their talents.
The main reason for that is that the musicians are looked down on most of the times by their fans instead of supporting them and helping them to do better all the day.
One of the entertainment analysts Frank Ntambi has given reasons why Ugandan female musicians should be praised all the time even when they can’t do the most but just because they try.
Firstly if he ddnt know, the human voice is a musical instrument, perhaps the ultimate musical instrument. Right?
So all the artists he mentioned qualify as musicians. You don’t have to like their voices but that’s by the way.
Secondly, popular music, and music in general, is both a creative and an expressive art. Therefore, you don’t have to be a writer to be an artist. Good examples of the latter being great performers like Frank Sinatra and Paul Robeson.
Thirdly, the creation of popular music is often a collaborative effort even when it says all songs written and composed by….whoever.
So one shouldn’t be in the music industry if they can’t play an instrument? That’s what he was maybe saying. What absolute rubbish. Anyway, there’s people in the music industry who can play an instrument but can’t sing for sh!t. Should these people not be allowed in the music industry either?
I like the personal vision thing nevertheless.
