Police has successfully arrested several suspects linked to a series of criminal activities on the Arua-Nebbi highway. The arrests come after a joint operation aimed at curbing rising crime in the region.
According to law enforcement officials, the suspects were apprehended during a routine patrol and subsequent investigation.
Following their arrest, the suspects led police officers to a nearby storage facility where a significant haul of stolen items was recovered. Among the stolen goods were electronics, household items, and other valuables believed to have been taken from various victims along the highway.
In a further revelation, police also uncovered a consignment of military uniforms hidden at the same location. The discovery has raised concerns, as the uniforms could potentially be used for illegal activities, including impersonation of security forces.
The police have confirmed that the suspects are currently being held in custody while further investigations are underway.
